Climate Foundation: Initial Visit to Compostela, Cebu for DOST-funded "Women-Led Permaculture" Project

Here's drone footage of what marine permaculture looks like. Special thanks to Sam Donahue of Climate Foundation.

"Marine permaculture mimics nature’s delivery of cool, nutrient rich water recreating by artificial means to grow and feed kelp and other marine life near the surface. Marine permaculture arrays (MPAs) run on nature’s own endogenous energy sources – wave, wind and marine-solar power – making this technology clean, natural and sustainable. Once the MPA has helped the ocean water regain its seaweed, fish and marine creatures reappear." - https://www.climatefoundation.org/marine-permaculture.html

Courtesy visit to the vice mayor, city admin, and LGU officers of Compostela, Cebu for FMDS-UPOU'S DOST PCAARRD-funded permaculture research entitled "Participatory Approach in Assessing and Promoting Women-led Permaculture in Selected Permaculture Sites in the Agriculture, Aquatic, and Natural Resources (AANR) Sectors in the Philippines"

Site tour and initial meeting with the staff and personnel of Climate Foundation. Thankful for good weather and fruitful discussions.

Drone mapping mission of marine permaculture in Compostela, Cebu with Sam Donohue of Climate Foundation. With clearances from Compostela LGU, Barangay Pobalacion and Estaca LGU, and PNP office.

Our research team's first glimpse of deep-sea marine permaculture taken by Sam Donahue of Climate Foundation. We couldn't go there by boat because of the weather so Sam flew the drone 1.5km from the coast to take some photos for our mapping and video footage for our site documentation.
