Abstract (preview): The biodiversity of birds may serve as a proxy for the Gini index of a permaculture landscape. Manual biodiversity monitoring can be expensive, time-consuming, and requires highly trained ornithologists. To mitigate these problems, an automated solution is proposed using digital signal processing (DSP) and image classification using deep learning.
