Elbi Morning, Every Morning
words and photos by baz (while driving)
Mornings
hold
a promise
that
evenings
would
always
keep.
Just had
one of
the sincerest
goodbyes
from
friends
i
seldom
see.
Thank you.

Time Doesn't Wait
by baz
Seems like the sunlight is starting to dim
And all I believe in is labeled as sin
For when the clouds watch me they play with my eyes
As they shape the wishes I form in my mind
Can you make me better
Is a question I'll ask
A wiser but bitter...
Happy, irresponsible, free as a child can be
Holding on to nothing but all of the time we have
It's all that I long for today
Cause time won't wait for our "someday"
And She Was Gone
Ginger reading her poem entitled "And She Was gone"
She chose to walk alone
Though others wondered why
Refused to look before her,
Kept eyes cast upwards,
Towards the sky.
She didn't have companions
No need for earthly things.
Only wanted freedom,
From what she felt were
Puppet strings.
She longed to be a bird. That she might fly away.
She pitied every blade of grass
For planted they would stay.
She longed to be a flame,
That brightly danced alone.
Felt jealous of the steam
That made the air its only home.
Some say she wished too hard.
Some say she wished too long.
But we awoke one autumn day
To find that she was gone.
The trees, they say stood witness.
The sky refused to tell.
But someone who had seen it said
The story played out well.
She spread her arms out wide.
Breathed in the break of dawn.
She just let go of all she held...
And then she was gone.
A Dog, a Horse, and Some Kids
story by baz
one day, there was a dog who rode a horse to school.
the dog's friends asked him, "why ride a horse when you can use your own legs to walk to school?"
the dog said, "because i have a horse."
the dog's friends asked the horse, "you allow a dog to ride on you?"
the horse smiled and asked them, "you allow a dog to go to school with you?"
and they went out for coffee and had a great time.
i will name my daughter "Seven"
i figured that posting stuff on Facebook is just contributing traffic to the already jammed graffiti walls that we have. is it necessary to read and know everybody's thoughts? a good thing about blogs, like this one, is that nobody reads them. it's like vomiting on your very own private space. it's releasing something without anyone really knowing about it. unless you're a vomit detective. it feels good.
i had too much caffeine today. that guatemala antigua from starbucks is really doing wonders for me. it's worth waking up to. i have this big fat textbook wide open and lying in the living room. it looks nice. it works well with the couch. i haven't touched it yet.
i ordered chicken at kfc. willing to wait, 15 mins? yes. it's an opportunity to read an e-book and not care about anything but the chicken. the end.

I don't need to explain.
People see
what they want to see.
People hear
what they want to hear.
I don't need to explain.
Never was a time
we gave way to what was meant
because what we want
has more meaning.
I don't need to explain.
